Things a Carpet Extractor Can Do for Auto Detailing

Auto detailing is a cleaning job that can involve many cleaning machines. Steam cleaners and pressure washers are used to clean the hard surfaces of a vehicle, like engine parts, body parts, and windshield glass. These machines cannot be used to clean the soft interior surfaces of vehicles, like mats and carpets. A carpet extractor steps in to do such tasks.

The function of carpet cleaners in auto detailing can be classified into two parts - cleaning carpets and cleaning seat upholstery.

Cleaning Carpets
Carpets and mats in a vehicle are usually the major carriers of external dirt in the vehicle. Dust, mud, and even food residues can be found on mats and carpets. Commercial carpet cleaner machines extract all kinds of dirt from mats and carpets.

Commercial carpet cleaner machines with heated output do a better job of auto detailing than do non-heated machines. Such machines help to reduce the quantity of cleaning machines too. A carpet extractor that can provide an output temperature of 210°F will be the ideal machine to clean the carpets and mats in a vehicle.

Cleaning Seat Upholstery
This is similar to carpet cleaning in many respects. It is better to use heated machines. Carpet cleaners equipped with low flow technology ensure that the surfaces dry up quickly.

One notable difference is in the choice of wands. Carpet extractor machines have special upholstery wands that are available especially for auto detailing. Upholstery surfaces are harder than carpet surfaces. Special wands are more suitable for cleaning the harder surfaces. Such wands make the cleaning process more efficient and quicker.
